Angeline Gragasin is a rising new director with a growing audience on Vimeo, Twitter and across the web. Her short films combine documentary, narrative, animation, and music, and are heavily influenced by her love of international cinema and performance. Angeline's thoughtful and stylish body of work has earned her the attention and respect of online tastemakers worldwide including prominent curators and creators at Vimeo, Portable.tv, Kickstarter, Got A Girl Crush, SFE.tv (Paris/Cologne), Montagne (Paris), File Magazine (London), Directors Notes (London), and Smashbox Studios (Los Angeles).
Angeline founded NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS in Chicago in 2009, as a comprehensive web & digital media production studio. In 2012, Angeline expanded the company to include collaborators and service clients in NYC, LA, and SF, and is now a dedicated video production and postproduction company which focuses on original storytelling and branded content.
Angeline's playful approach to filmmaking and willingness to take risks grants her access to a diversity of collaborators who are transforming their respective fields. She has created videos for and with a number of influential personalities such as mortician Caitlin Doughty, writer Amelia Gray, painter Derek Erdman, and cinematographer Philip Bloom. An important part of her process is discovering and cultivating meaningful relationships online, and transplanting them to the real world, where they can blossom and fruit.
Prior to dedicating herself to filmmaking, Angeline was a freelance Graphic Designer, Web Developer, Festival Curator, Photographer, Writer (and ghost writer), Editor, and Actor. It is worth noting she has trained extensively in clown, mask, mime, and opera. Her ability to communicate from experience with artists in any medium is what sets her apart from other directors.
She holds an AB in Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities from The University of Chicago.
