Apprenticeships
NHQ is hiring apprentices: ambitious, creative, and tech-savvy young people who are interested in gaining production skills with the eventual goal of advancing to the producer level at our company, and later starting his or her own independent production company.
This position is different from an Internship in that a successful apprenticeship will end with a promotion, rather than a letter of recommendation for future employers; a former apprentice will then continue to work with NHQ as a Co-Producer to earn a salary based on commission or per-project. And, unlike in an internship where one might never be challenged or engaged by the actual daily tasks (fetching coffee, answering the phone, giving people the bathroom key) an apprenticeship with NHQ will be custom-tailored to play to your individual interests and strengths. This means, if you're really interested in a particular field--for example, video editing or web design--we'll make sure you get the opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience in that field of interest. If your interest is highly specific, and it looks like you'll need a specialist--for example, 3D animation, or mobile web app design--we can, throughout your apprenticeship, arrange one-on-one meetings with one of the many, highly accomplished professionals in our network of collaborators.
This is a position for an aspiring Producer, Director, or otherwise highly motivated creator who wants in on the nitty-gritty, at the ground level. For now, apprenticeships are part-time and unpaid, but we are able to offer limited stipends for meals and transportation, and the opportunity to learn the art of collaboration from some cutting-edge creatives. This position is highly competitive and we encourage prospective apprentices to put a lot of thought into their applications before submitting.
